Each level lasts one school year (weekly classes, excluding school vacations), with hands-on projects along the way.

When classes take place

Time slots all week long

One 90-minute session per week, in a fixed time slot chosen at enrollment, all school year long, excluding school vacations.

Joining the Startup Académie teaching team is no small thing. Every candidate goes through a multi-step selection process: application review, an in-depth interview and a live teaching demo. Only those who meet all of our criteria are hired.

Our instructors hold degrees in the subject they teach: web development, programming, robotics, artificial intelligence, digital design and more. They know their subject inside out, so they can answer your children's questions with precision and clarity.

Being an expert in your field is not enough. Each of our instructors has prior experience teaching or mentoring young people, whether in schools, nonprofits, private tutoring or workshops. They know how to adapt their approach, hold kids' attention and make learning accessible and fun.

Before leading their first session, all of our instructors sign our Child Protection Charter. It sets out clear, non-negotiable rules: communication only through our official platforms, kind and respectful behavior at all times, and immediate reporting of any concerning situation. Any breach leads to immediate suspension.

Our instructors are not left on their own once hired. Every session is followed up for quality: student feedback, observations from the teaching team and regular reviews. An instructor who no longer meets our standards receives coaching or is removed. Quality is not a one-time promise; it is an ongoing process.

What sets our instructors apart is how they feel about teaching. To them it is not a side job but a calling. Seeing a child understand, grow and create something they are proud of: that is what drives them. You can feel that passion from the very first session.

🎓 Teaching & Safety

Online classes are open to kids and teens ages 8 to 17, split into three levels: Explorer (ages 8 to 9), Builder (ages 10 to 13) and Architect (ages 13 to 17). Each level runs over one school year, excluding school vacations.

Absolutely. In fact, that is true for most of our students. Before classes begin, we assess your child's level and interests to place them in the group that suits them best. All they need is curiosity; there are no prerequisites.

Your child's safety is our top priority. Every instructor goes through a thorough vetting process and signs a Child Protection Charter that forbids any unsupervised private communication with a minor outside official sessions. All classes take place exclusively on our secure platform, never on unmonitored third-party tools. We recommend that parents of children under 10 stay nearby during the first few sessions.

Online, yes. You are welcome to sit with your child, as long as you do not step in during the session, since any interruption can disrupt the whole group.

💻 Practical details

A stable internet connection and a computer (or a tablet, though a computer works best for coding). No paid software is needed: all our tools run right in the web browser. A smartphone alone is not enough for coding activities.

Your child logs in once a week for 90 minutes, in a fixed time slot chosen at enrollment: Monday to Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, or Sunday from 2:00 to 3:30 pm, all school year long, excluding school vacations.

In France, classes are taught in French. For families in other countries, the teaching language is clearly stated before enrollment, and we do our best to offer an instructor who speaks your child's native language. Contact us to find out which languages are available in your area.

If your child is absent, the session is still charged, but the teacher sends the class materials to your child so they can catch up at their own pace. Please let us know as early as possible at contact@startupacademie.com.

Online classes are 49 €/month per child, for one 90-minute session per week, all school year long, excluding school vacations. The monthly option is a payment plan: enrollment covers the 10 months of classes from September to June. Pay for the year up front and get 2 months off, for a total of 392 €. Enrollment takes just a few minutes online, with secure payment.
